Birch Mountain Day School, Inc. was founded in 1995 based on the need for quality educational programming for young children. Located in Manchester, CT, we believe that what we offer is the best, balanced combination of education and day care. Our philosophy is that children come first.
Serving children from 3 months old to school-age, our curriculum is based on developmentally appropriate practices that incorporate language arts, sciences, mathematics, music, dramatic play, and gross motor skills. We facilitate a variety of hands-on activities to make learning fun and exciting.

Our Programs
At Birch Mountain Day School, we offer a variety of programs in an open classroom environment. Our experienced and friendly staff has the talent and education to meet the individual needs of your child.
TOT Program (3 mos. – 18 mos.)
Our TOT program is available for children 3 months to 18 months.
Preschool Prep Program (18 mos. – 3 yrs.)
This program is for children ages 18 months to 3 years old. It’s mini preschool with art, reading, and singing daily.
Preschool Program
Our preschool program offers flexible day of the week options to meet your family’s schedule and needs. You may choose from two, three, four, or five days of the week.
Pre-Kindergarten Program
Our pre-kindergarten program is set up on a two, three, four, or five days-per-week schedule. However, you may choose to have your child attend a half-day, full-day, or extended day.

Our Schedule
Our school year runs on a 39-week calendar with a 41-week option, which includes the holiday break, as well as spring break. We also offer a 52-week calendar option with a 2-week vacation credit.

- Half-day programs: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM, which includes lunchtime with your provided meal
- Full-day programs: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, which includes your provided lunch and afternoon snack.
- Extended-day programs: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, which includes your provided lunch and 2 snacks.
